TULSA, Okla., August 14, 2018 – Gateway Mortgage Group, founded by Kevin Stitt, welcomed teachers back to class this fall by paying for every classroom project request at Roy Clark Elementary.

The company funded all projects listed on the Tulsa area school’s DonorsChoose.org page, totaling nearly $3,000.

Most of the projects focus on science, technology, engineering and math subjects, commonly known as STEM. Arts-integration initiatives to increase reading comprehension were also included.

“Gateway’s donation allows our students to explore and learn in new ways,” said Alicia Ewing, Roy Clark Elementary principal. “The generous gift will provide opportunities the children wouldn’t have access to otherwise. The new resources will get them excited and help foster a lifelong love of learning.”

Gateway Mortgage Group also funded seven projects totaling more than $4,000 for a school in Oklahoma City through DonorsChoose.org.

“Supporting local communities and empowering young people is important to everyone at Gateway,” said Hobie Higgins, chief community engagement officer at Gateway Mortgage Group.

Gateway Mortgage Group founder Kevin Stitt said the company is committed to supporting community development and strengthening families.

“Providing teachers with resources for the classroom will help Oklahoma children succeed,” Stitt said. “These kids are our future leaders and workforce, and we must do all we can to give them the education they deserve.”

The gifts are part of Gateway Mortgage Group’s “Gateway Gives Back” program. The company pledged to reinvest $275 million in communities throughout Oklahoma within the next five years, starting in 2018. The Gateway Gives Back program will also provide mortgage financing in low- to moderate-income communities.
