Gateway Mortgage Group Expands Correspondent Lending into Midwest

TULSA, Okla., March 19, 2014 – Gateway Mortgage Group, a privately held mortgage company offering originations, servicing and correspondent lending, announced the addition of James “Jace” Cowan as regional sales manager. Cowan will be responsible for the company’s correspondent lending expansion into the Midwest.

“I am excited to join the Gateway team and bring my years of correspondent lending experience to the table,” said Cowan. “Having strong regional coverage is essential to building on the company’s success and this expansion was a perfect opportunity to join an organization like Gateway.”

Cowan has been in the mortgage industry for 10 years, with a focus on correspondent lending since 2007. Prior to joining Gateway, he was the correspondent account manager for US Bank Home Mortgage, where he successfully managed 28 accounts across a multi-state territory and produced $250 million in funded loans during his first year. Previously Cowan served as correspondent account manger for Central National Bank; he began his mortgage career with North American Savings Bank as a mortgage banker.

“Jace brings tremendous knowledge and sales experience to Gateway, and his established success will be invaluable to the company,” said Scott Henley, senior vice president, Correspondent Lending for Gateway. “Gateway provides an excellent outlet for small to mid-sized lenders, and his addition allows us to gain a presence in the Midwestern market.”

Cowan will begin his career at Gateway with an initial focus on Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa for the Correspondent Division.
