TULSA, Okla., July 18, 2018 – The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) will return to Tulsa for the first time in nearly a decade. Gateway Mortgage Group, founded by Kevin Stitt, provided the title sponsorship for the AJGA Tulsa Junior tournament, which will take place July 23-26 at Oaks Country Club. Seventy-eight golfers ages 12 to 19 from across the country will compete, including more than 20 from Oklahoma.

“Tulsa is a fantastic city for golf, and we are proud to help bring the future stars of the game to Oklahoma,” said Gateway Mortgage Group senior vice president Hobie Higgins. “Our company helps make dreams of home ownership come true, and we’re glad to help young golfers test themselves as they chase their dreams.”

The AJGA, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

“Without the support of Gateway Mortgage Group, we wouldn’t have been able to host this tournament,” said AJGA Senior Regional Director, South Central Darren Nelson. “This event provides young golfers the necessary exposure to succeed in this challenging sport.”

The program will focus on providing mortgage financing in low- to moderate-income communities while partnering with nonprofits that support community development and strengthen families.
