ADA, Okla., Dec. 5, 2018 – The Ada Mortgage Center of Gateway Mortgage Group, a full-service mortgage company, has chosen Mama T’s B&B and Abba’s Tables as their charity of choice this holiday season. The company donated a combined $12,500 to help provide food and a safe place to stay for those in need through the company’s annual Charity Challenge.

“Food and shelter are two basic essentials we hope to secure for Ada’s most vulnerable people,” said Michael McElroy, location manager of Gateway’s Ada Mortgage Center. “Gateway wants to strengthen families, and these two nonprofits make a huge difference in our community.”

Abba’s Tables feeds the hungry free of charge and the nonprofit serves over 20,000 meals a year, in addition to providing groceries and clothing when available.

Mama T’s B&B, a new homeless shelter in Ada, provides emergency services to an average of 25 people on a nightly basis. The nonprofit assists guests in developing plans to rise out of homelessness.

“We hope to receive enough donations to keep the shelter open 24/7,” said Nancy Young, Mama T’s B&B board member. “We are immensely thankful to Gateway Mortgage Group for helping us progress toward our goal.”

Gateway’s Charity Challenge rewards Mortgage Centers that achieve performance metrics by allowing them to donate to charities of their choice. This year, the Ada and Stillwater offices received the honor. Over the past three years, Gateway has donated $90,000 through the challenge.
