Gateway’s core purpose is to strengthen families and communities through homeownership. This core purpose has become a passion for Gateway team members who volunteer their time and make donations to worthwhile charities in communities throughout the United States.
We believe our success and accomplishments go hand-in-hand with the underlying responsibility to give back to those who need it most. In addition to ensuring our mortgage services provide equal housing opportunity in low-to-moderate income communities, Gateway believes in supporting community development issues like education, criminal justice, adoption and foster care, veterans support and disaster recovery in communities around the country.
In 2017, Gateway announced a national partnership with Folds of Honor, a non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships to families of service men and women who have fallen or been disabled in combat.
For every loan closed through one of our Mortgage Centers, Gateway commits $5 to Folds of Honor. This adds up quickly since Gateway provides new mortgages to approximately 20,000 customers each year. In May of 2018, Gateway announced the renewal of its partnership with Folds of Honor which means our total donation should eclipse $200,000 by June of 2019.

In 2009, a donation from Gateway helped establish the Gateway Christian School in a small village in Nigeria that educates more than 300 students a year. Gateway continues to make an annual donation to fund teachers’ salaries, provide school supplies, give scholarships, and help meet a variety of other needs.
In 2015, Gateway helped provide the financing to purchase 215 acres in Uganda to establish the Gateway Youth Ranch. This facility provides orphans with traditional schooling plus sustainability skills such as crop and fish farming, raising cattle and other skills that will enhance their lives.
